Scoot has announced recently that it will import 16 new Airbus A321neo aircraft. Its first new A321neo aircraft is named  "Wings of Change" and is scheduled to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2020.

Of the 16 new A321neo aircraft added by Scoot, six aircraft were converted from the existing A320neo orders, and the other 10 aircraft were introduced in the form of leases.

The "Wings of Change" will be deployed on the mid-range route within the six-hour flight radius from Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 1. These include destinations to the Philippines, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Japan and South Korea.

The addition of the new A321neo fleet will help Scoot achieve its goal of double-digit growth in the 2020/2021 fiscal year. The new fleet will enable Scoot to focus on introducing more long-haul routes to Europe and the Middle East using its fleet of 787-8 and 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.

The A321neo aircraft of Scoot is powered by the Pratt & Whitney engine and it will be delivered on the Airbus final assembly line. It is equipped with 236 seats, which is 50 more than the existing A320neo.

Mr. Lee Lik Hsin, CEO of Scoot said, “The introduction of the A321neo model strongly supports our route network development plan for 2020 and beyond. This is why we named the first A321neo passenger aircraft of Scoot as Wings of Change. Our A321neo will be equipped with a new cabin interior design and the current seat products that are popular with passengers. We hope that passengers are just like us, excited by the addition of the new aircraft type. "

As the most spacious single-aisle passenger aircraft, the A321neo features enhanced shark fin winglets, a highly efficient fuel engine and the latest cabin innovation.

The high-efficiency fuel engine of the A321neo and the latest cabin innovation will save Scoot fuel costs by 12 per cent compared to the A320neo and 20 per cent compared to the A320-200. From an environmental perspective, the A321neo's noise footprint and nitrogen oxide emissions will be reduced by 50 per cent, and it is estimated that each aircraft will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 5,000 tons per year.

As of 2 August 2019, Scoot's fleet consists of 48 aircraft in active service, of which there are 2 A320neo, 26 A320-200, 10 787-8 and 10 787-9 jets. Its only A319 has been withdrawn from service. Till 2025, it will receive 23 more new A320neo aircraft after six aircraft conversions to the A321neo model.
