According to Uzbekistan Airways, its B767-300ER aircraft carried 60 tourists of Singaporean, Malaysian and Indonesian nationalities without tourist visas to Tashkent from Singapore via Kuala Lumpur on 16 February 2018.
Since 10 February 2018, Uzbekistan has officially allowed tourists from South Korea, Singapore, Turkey, Israel, Malaysia, Indonesia and Japan to enter Tashkent without tourist visas for up to 30 days from the date of entry.
Uzbekistan's new visa-free policy for the above nationals will facilitate Uzbekistan Airways' plans in increasing air traffic flows from these countries and introducing new routes later this year.
Uzbekistan Airways' new routes this year include a new scheduled route to Barcelona from Tashkent using its B787-800 Dreamliner aircraft, which will inaugurate on 24 May 2018, and a new route to Mumbai from Tashkent during spring or summer.
On 24 May 2018, Uzbekistan Airways flight HY259 departs from Tashkent for Barcelona at 4.45 am, arrives in Barcelona at 9.40 am before leaving Barcelona for Tashkent at 11.10 am and touching down in Tashkent at 9.15 pm on the same day under flight HY260. It flies every Thursday to Barcelona from Tashkent.
Uzbekistan Airways has weekly flights to Tashkent from Singapore via Kuala Lumpur and non-stop flights from Tashkent to Singapore. From Tashkent, it provides onward connections to Tel Aviv in Israel, Minsk in Belarus, Istanbul and Central Asian cities such as Almaty in Kazakhstan and Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan. It also flies to Beijing, Incheon and Narita.
Uzbekistan Airways will exhibit under Uzbekistan national tourism organization booth (Booth 5H13) at NATAS Travel Fair 2018 in Singapore from 23 to 25 March to promote public awareness of Uzbekistan travel and tourism.
