The Royal Government of Bhutan has declared 2015 as “Visit Bhutan 2015” year to commemorate the 60th birthday anniversary of His Majesty the 4th Druk Gyalpo. The tourism industry will celebrate the year under the tagline “Celebrate happiness”.

Visit Bhutan 2015 serves as one of the largest Tourism carnivals in Bhutan tourism history. Bhutan will celebrate 2015 with colourful festivals, events and activities held in different parts of Bhutan throughout the year. This programme invites all the tourists to experience authentic celebrations of various events.

Bhutan’s tourism sector is regarded as one of the most exclusive travel destinations in the world. Bhutan is often revered as the "land of the Thunder Dragon" as still regarded as the last "Shangri-la" in the Himalayan region because of its remoteness, its spectacular mountain terrain, varied flora and fauna and its unique ancient Buddhist monasteries, deeply revered king, remarkably friendly people and unique colourful culture.

The Royal Government of Bhutan adheres strongly to a policy of high value, low impact/volume tourism which serves the purpose of creating an image of exclusivity and high-yield for Bhutan. Here Buddhism is a natural way of life and the whole country breathes peace, tranquility, enchantment, joy and age-old wisdom.

Bhutan has introduced Gross National Happiness to the world as an alternative for the economic Gross National Product, thereby inspiring many other countries to look at happiness and development in a different, richer way.
