"The all-in fares start from as low as RM48 from Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi, while the fares for Kuching and Kota Kinabalu start from RM68 and RM88, respectively,” it said.

Bookings can be made via MYAirline’s website at www.myairline.my from 26 to 30 November 2022, while the travel period for this deal is from 1 December 2022 to 25 March 2023.

As part of its promotional deal, the airline is also offering exclusive MYAirline vouchers which can be used for flights between 1 and 15 December 2022.

Moving forward, MYAirline said it plans to launch flights to Kota Bharu, Penang, Sibu, Tawau, Miri, Alor Setar, Terengganu and other major destinations in Malaysia upon obtaining the regulator’s approval. There are also plans to launch a direct flight between Penang and Langkawi.

MYAirline Chief Executive Officer Rayner Teo said the flight frequencies would be increased as the airline’s domestic network expands, adding that it plans to start flying to Singapore and other ASEAN countries by the second quarter of 2023 at the latest.

Royalair Philippines launches flight from Caticlan to Taoyuan on 26 December 2022

Report by : Gan Yung Chyan, KUCINTA SETIA

Image : Golden Far East Travel Agency, which represents Royalair Philippines, held a press conference on 24 November. Royalair Philippines CEO Eduardo C. Novillas (middle) said that direct flights from Taipei to Caticlan Airport will start on 26 December. (Photo by reporter Chen Xinyu, Liberty Times)

In the past, when Taiwan tourists traveled to Boracay Island, they had to take a chartered flight to Kalibo Airport in the Philippines and then had to drive for another 2 hours to arrive at the pier to Boracay Island. Royalair Philippines announces on 24 November 2022 that the direct commercial flight from Taoyuan to Caticlan Airport starts on 26 December 2022, and it only takes 5 minutes to drive to the pier to reach Boracay after getting off the plane in Caticlan, which is much more convenient to travel.

Eduardo C. Novillas, CEO of Royalair Philippines, said that on 26 December, the outgoing flight, RW257 takes off from Catcilan for Taoyaun at 10 am and touches down in Taoyuan at 12.45 pm before leaving Taoyuan for Caticlan under flight RW258 at 1.45 pm and arriving in Catclan at 4.30 pm. The flight time is about 2 hours and 45 minutes.

Golden Far East Travel Agency, the agent of Royalair Philippines in Taiwan, said that the Boracay route will rapidly increase flights in the first quarter of next year. The flights will operate on 26, 30 December, and 3, 7, 11, 15 January 2023, from 19 January to 8 February 2023 (during the Lunar New Year period). There is one return flight during the Lunar New Year season, and on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from February to 25 March 2023.

Caticlan was originally a domestic airport, and now there are also international flights. After tourists arrive at Caticlan Airport, they do not have to rush to the pier. The pier is only a 5 minute drive away.

Boracay, Philippines was once rated as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world by the well-known travel magazine Lonely Planet. However, due to the large number of tourists, the water quality was polluted. In 2018, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte ordered it to be closed for half a year. After the ecological recovery, it reopened with a new look to the world.
