China Express launches direct flight to Vientiane on 27 July 2022

China Express has announced its intention to launch non-stop scheduled flight from Chongqing to Vientiane on 27 July 2022 with its A320 jet.
On 27 July 2022, China Express flight G52805 departs from Chongqing for Vientiane at 8.45 am, touches down in Vientiane at 10.20 am before leaving Vientiane for Chongqing at 11.20 am and arriving in Chongqing at 2.40 pm under flight G52806.
China Express flies to Vientiane on Wednesdays.

Drukair restores flight to Changi via Guwahati on 3 September 2022

According to Drukair Royal Bhutan Airlines' web-site, Drukair's Airbus A319 restores scheduled flight to Changi from Paro via Guwahati on 3 September 2022 and the last direct flight from Paro to Changi falls on 20 August 2022 while the last non-stop flight from Changi to Paro takes place on 21 August 2022.
On 3 September 2022, Drukair flight KB540 departs from Paro for Changi via Guwahati at 8.05 am, transits in Guwahati at 8.30 am before leaving Guwahati for Changi at 9.10 am and touching down in Changi at 4.10 pm.
The outbound flight for Paro from Changi leaves the airport on 4 September 2022 at 12.30 pm, transits in Guwahati at 2.30 pm before taking off from Guwahati for Paro at 3.20 pm and arriving in Paro at 4.45 pm under flight KB541.
Drukair Royal Bhutan Airlines flies to Changi on Saturdays and leaves for Paro on Sundays via Guwahati from 3 September 2022.
From 5 April 2023, the airline restores its Wednesday flight from Paro to Changi via Guwahati.

NATAS Travel Holidays returns on 12 to 14 August 2022
NATAS Travel Holidays, organized by the National Association of Travel Agents Singapore (NATAS), returns on 12 to 14 August 2022. It is held at Hall 5 of Singapore Expo. This is the first major travel fair to open during the covid pandemic in Singapore
6 National Tourism Organizations (NTOs) that include Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), Korean Tourism Organization (KTO), Sarawak Tourism Board (STB), Taiwan Tourism Bureau (TTB), Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Maldives Marketing & PR Corporation (under "Visit Maldives) are exhibiting in the NATAS Travel Holidays 2022. New NTOs may be added.
As usual, these NTOs will distribute tourism and travel maps as well as any brochures distributed by their countries' airlines. For example, at TTB, brochures of China Airlines, EVA Air will be distributed. Starlux Airlines may also distribute brochures at NATAS Travel Holidays.
At KTO, brochures of Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, Jeju Air, T'way Air and Air Premia may be distributed.
TAT distributes brochures of Bangkok Airways and travel guides.
At least 21 travel agencies are exhibiting and marketing their group tour packages at NATAS Travel Holidays 2022 including Changi Recommends, CTC Travel, Hong Thai Travel and Nam Ho Travel.
Public visitors must put on masks for entry to the travel fair.
Airline exhibitors such as Air Mauritius and Drukair Royal Bhutan Airlines are not indicated as of 25 July 2022.

ITB Asia 2022 opens on 19 October 2022
The physical version of ITB Asia 2022 opens on 19 October 2022 and ends on 21 October 2022 to business entities. It is held at Sands Expo Convention Centre Halls D - F.
As of 25 July 2022, Finnair is the only Airline Exhibitor.
The country destination to be featured in 2022 at ITB Asia is Saudi Arabia and Saudi Tourism Authority will exhibit its tourism products and services.
Major NTOs and tourism pavilions will market their countries and cities at ITB Asia 2022 including Seoul Tourism Organization, Visit Iceland, Malta Tourism Authority, USA Pavilion, Vanuatu Tourism and Singapore Tourism Board. The list of NTOs will be updated.
ITB Asia, an offshoot of ITB Berlin, held annually in Singapore excluding 2021 which was held online, aims at stimulating outbound and inbound tourism growth in the world. It is not opened to the public.

9air launches flights to Zhongwei and Urumqi on 21 July 2022

9air has launched scheduled flights on two new routes on 21 July 2022, namely Guangzhou - Zhongwei and Zhongwei - Urumqi.
On 21 July 2022, 9air flight AQ1571 departs from Guangzhou for Zhongwei at 6.15 am, touches down in Zhongwei at 9.25 am before leaving Zhongwei for Guangzhou at 5.40 pm and landing in Guangzhou at 4.55 pm under flight AQ1572.
On 21 July 2022, the same B737-800 jet changes its flight code to AQ1371 for departure from Zhongwei for Urumqi at 10.10 am and arrives in Urumqi at 12.55 pm. Soon, flight AQ1372 takes off from Urumqi for Zhongwei and touches down in Zhongwei at 4.55 pm.
9air flies to Zhongwei and Urumqi on Thursdays, Saturdays and Tuesdays. It also flies non-stop from Guangzhou to Urumqi.

EL AL to reduce flight durations to Mumbai and Bangkok, introduce new destinations

EL AL Israel Airlines has revealed on its Facebook on 19 July 2022 that in light of the airspace opening of Saudi Arabia, its passengers can reach Mumbai within 5 hours 15 minutes from the current 7 hours 45 minutes and to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi within 8 hours 30 minutes from the current 11 hours. All flights depart from Tel Aviv, the largest commercial city of Israel.
EL AL plans to grow and reach new, exciting destinations including to Australia. It suggests possibilities of launching scheduled flights to Sydney via Singapore Changi or Suvarnabhumi. Its recent new destinations include Dubai and Bahrain, all flying through Saudi airspace.

Starlux flight JX0731 performs A330neo ceremonial flight to Changi on 21 July 2022

According to Starlux Airlines official web-site, Starlux flight JX0731 is performing the A330neo ceremonial flight from Taoyuan to Changi on 21 July 2022. It will be the first and only A330neo special flight day of Starlux Airlines to Singapore instead of 28 July 2022 as previously scheduled.
According to revised schedule, flight JX0731 departs from Taoyuan for Changi at 8.50 am and touches down in Changi at 1.20 pm on 21 July 2022 before it leaves Changi for Taoyuan at 3.05 pm and arrives in Taoyuan at 8.05 pm under flight JX0732.
Then on 28 July 2022, flight JX0731 lands as usual in Changi at 1.45 pm (depart from Taoyuan at 9.05 am).

Scoot launches non-stop flights to Narita and Kansai on 1 August and 1 September 2022

Scoot, operated by Scoot Tigerair Pte Ltd, launches direct scheduled flights from Singapore Changi to Narita and Kansai from 1 August 2022 and 1 September 2022. The Changi - Narita route is in addition to the existing Changi - Taoyuan - Narita route.
On 1 August 2022, Scoot Tigerair flight TR808 departs from Changi for Narita at 1.10 am, touches down in Narita at 8.55 am on 2 August 2022 before leaving Narita for Changi at 10 am and arriving in Changi Airport at 4.30 pm under flight TR809.
TR808/TR809 is operated by Scoot's Dreamliner 787-9 aircraft.
On 1 September 2022, flight TR818 leaves Changi for Kansai at 6.25 am, arrives in Kansai at 2.10 pm on the same day before taking off from Kansai for Changi at 3.15 pm and touching down in Changi at 9.10 pm under flight TR819 on .
TR818/TR819 is operated by Scoot's Dreamliner 787-8 aircraft.
Scoot flies to Narita and Kansai daily.

Capital Airlines launches Hangzhou - Lisbon flight on 26 August 2022

Capital Airlines, the Beijing Capital-based subsidiary of Hainan Airlines, launches weekly non-stop scheduled flight from Hangzhou to Lisbon on 26 August 2022 with its Airbus A330 aircraft.
On 26 August 2022, Capital Airlines flight JD435 departs from Hangzhou for Lisbon at 11.30 pm, touches down in Lisbon at 7.10 am on 27 August 2022 before leaving Lisbon for Hangzhou at 12.50 pm and arriving in Hangzhou on 28 August 2022 at 9.10 am under flight JD436.
Capital Airlines flies to Lisbon on Fridays and lands in Hangzhou on Sundays.
The Hangzhou - Lisbon route is Capital Airlines' third route to Portugal. In July 2017, the airline commenced non-stop scheduled flight from Beijing Capital to Lisbon and in 2019, it launched the Beijing Capital-Xi'an Xianyang- Lisbon routes until these routes were suspended due to the pandemic.

Bangkok Airways resumes scheduled flight to Male from Suvarnabhumi on 13 July 2022.
On 13 July 2022, Bangkok Airways flight PG711 departs from Suvarnabhumi for Male at 9.20 am, touches down in Male at 11.45 am before leaving Male for Suvarnabhumi at 12.45 pm and arriving in Suvarnabhumi at 7.30 pm under flight PG712.
Bangkok Airways flies to Male on Wednesdays, Fridays, Sundays and Mondays with A319/A320 aircraft.

ITA Airways launches flight to Male on 17 December 2022

On 17 December 2022, the outbound flight of ITA Airways departs from Rome for Male at 10.10 pm, touches down in Male at 11.20 am on 18 December 2022 before leaving Male for Rome at 1.25 pm on the same day and arriving in Rome at 7.45 pm.
Flight timings are effective until 26 March 2023 with its A350 operating on the route to Male on 17, 21, 22 and 25 December 2022. From 28 December 2022, flights will be operated by A330 aircraft until 25 March 2023 (https://www.ita-airways.com/it_it/offerte/tutte-le-offerte/maldive.html).
Male, the capital of the Maldives, is ITA Airways' first destination in Asia.

Nigerian airline Air Peace plans to open Guangzhou and Mumbai routes

Nigerian airline Air Peace will start direct flights to Guangzhou, China and Mumbai, India to expand its route network on the Asian continent. It will be the first African airline to launch flight to Guangzhou in 2022.
