Vietnam Airlines' Boeing B787 Dreamliner is launching Hanoi's first long-haul flight to Sydney on 28 March 2017 under flight VN787. It flies to Sydney from Hanoi on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
On 28 March 2017, Vietnam Airlines flight VN787 departs from Hanoi for Sydney at 11.55 pm, arrives in Sydney at 1.15 pm before leaving Sydney for Hanoi at 3.15 pm and touching down in Hanoi at 8.50 pm under flight VN786.
The Dreamliner flight will be Vietnam Airlines' first Dreamliner flight and first-ever flight from the Vietnamese administrative capital to Australia and the Pacific region.
The Hanoi-Sydney route is not Vietnam Airlines' first Australasia route as it already flies to Sydney and Melbourne from Ho Chi Minh City.
