Air Koryo is launching its first charter flight to Taiyuan, Shanxi Province in China, from Pyongyang, on 22 August 2016.
On 22 August 2016, Air Koryo's An-148 aircraft leaves Pyongyang for Taiyuan at 9 am, arrives i Taiyuan at 11 am before departing from Taiyuan for Pyongyang at 12.30 pm and touching down in Pyongyang at 2.30 pm. One of its Tu-204 aircraft will be deployed later on this new route according to passenger demand.
Air Koryo will fly between Pyongyang and Taiyuan until 30 October 2016. The flights are chartered by two established Shanxi Province travel operators including Spring Shanxi Travels, the tour operator subsidiary of Spring Airlines in Taiyuan.
Earlier this year, Air Koryo operated charter flights to Qingdao and Jinan in May 2016. It has regular scheduled flights to Beijing, Shenyang and Shanghai-Pudong in China and to Vladivostok in Russia Far East.
