Tigerair launches its first scheduled flight to Quanzhou from Singapore on 28 September 2015. It will operate services on the new route on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays using one of its Airbus A320 aircraft. The new route was first revealed by ASA Holidays' ASA Air Charters in the Tigerair route map at both Travel Revolution and NATAS Holidays 2015 travel fairs in August 2015.

Quanzhou is the starting point of the Maritime Silk Road where many Singapore Hokkien-speaking Chinese forefathers hailed from, the homeland of mandarin oranges and the gateway to the famous Hui'An County where Hui'An women's exotic costumes are known for.
Now a major industrial, petrochemical and apparel manufacturing city, Quanzhou's famous tourist attractions include South Shaolin Temple where Yongchun martial arts were developed, the symbolic Kaiyuan Temple that has relief and architectural evidence of Hindu and Buddhist influences, Mount Qingyuan National Park and the famous statue of Lao Tze.
Before 28 September 2015, international flights from Quanzhou reach Seoul-Incheon, Suvarnabhumi, Hong Kong, Taipei-Taoyuan, Jeju, Macau and Manila.
