According to South Korean media reports, South Korean budget airline T'way Air has announced it will change its name to Trinity Airways, leveraging the rebranding to expand its integrated hotel and airline businesses. T'way Air announced on 8 September 2025 that it will officially begin building its integrated services group with the launch of a new corporate image and name change.
T'way Air explains that the new name, "Trinity" is derived from "Trinitas" in Latin symbolizing "three in one, completeness." It signifies the integration of its existing aviation business with accommodation and travel, offering customers a richer experience. The company plans to implement the name change and livery updates starting in the first half of 2026.
T'way Air enters the long-haul market in 2022, serving destinations in Oceania and Europe. In December 2022, the company launched the Incheon-Sydney route, becoming the first South Korean budget airline to operate a long-haul route in Oceania. Last May, it added the Incheon-Zagreb route, officially entering the European market. The company subsequently took over several European routes vacated by the merger of Korean Air and Asiana Airlines, expanding its network to Rome, Paris, Barcelona and Frankfurt.
Daemyung Sono Group, a hotel and resort company, officially entered the aviation industry with the acquisition of T'way Air, completing the acquisition process last June after receiving approval for a corporate merger from the Korea Fair Trade Commission.
