Since its entry into the worldwide airline alliance Skyteam in March 2014, Garuda Indonesia has opened several domestic and international routes.

On 1 May 2014, Garuda Indonesia launched daily domestic flights linking Banyuwangi with Surabaya and Denpasar. On the same day, it launched international flights from Makassar to Jeddah via Medan - Kualanamu after successfully launching Surabaya's first direct Middle East flight to Jeddah in April 2014.

On 1 June 2014, Garuda Indonesia launches a new domestic daily flight from Surabaya to Jember. Effective 15 June 2014, it operates direct scheduled flights to Tokyo-Haneda from Jakarta on a daily basis.

On 8 September 2014, Garuda Indonesia will fly to London from Jakarta via Amsterdam five times a week. Garuda's direct flights to Amsterdam from Jakarta begin on 30 May 2014.

To celebrate the new flights and promote Indonesia, Garuda Indonesia distributed brochures under the Indonesian tourism pavilion at ITE & MICE 2014 which took place in Hong Kong from 12 to 15 June this year and will exhibit later at ITB Asia 2014 which will held in Singapore in October 2014.
