Mexicana has received its first Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. The delivery of this new aircraft is an important milestone in the modernization of Mexicana's fleet and highlights the growing market influence of the E2 family in Latin America. The new aircraft has now departed from Embraer's headquarters to Mexico.

This delivery is the first of 20 next-generation E2 aircraft ordered by Mexicana. The order, announced in 2024, includes 10 E190-E2s and 10 E195-E2s. With this strategic decision, Mexicana will improve its network connectivity and operational efficiency.

Leobardo Bojórquez, CEO of Mexicana, said: "This delivery marks a new chapter for Mexicana. The E2's superior performance, economy and comfort make it the ideal aircraft to support our strategic growth. We look forward to providing customers with a new level of service experience and operational efficiency."

All of Mexicana's E2 series aircraft will adopt a comfortable single-cabin layout, providing passengers with Embraer's iconic 2+2 modern flight experience without middle seats. With advanced aerodynamic design and new generation engines, the E195-E2 is expected to save up to 29% in fuel consumption compared to the first generation E Series aircraft E195.

Arjan Meijer, President and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation, said: "We are honoured to deliver the first E2 aircraft to Mexicana, helping it fulfill its mission of connecting communities across Mexico with greater efficiency and comfort. As the world's most fuel-efficient single-aisle aircraft, the E2 is a perfect fit for Mexicana's route network layout and sustainability goals."

The E190-E2 and E195-E2 belong to Embraer's E-Jets E2 series of aircraft, which are known for their low noise, low emissions and best-in-class economy. The series of aircraft uses full fly-by-wire technology to reduce pilot workload and improve safety. In addition, Mexicana's E2 fleet will be backed by Embraer's comprehensive service and support system to ensure high aircraft availability and operational reliability from the first day of operation.
